User Rating:Battle Bears is one of those games that is simply cute to own and at $.99 certainly hits the right price point for what it brings to the table. The objective is pretty simple. You’re a teddy bear armed with a unicorn crossbow among other weapons. You have to shoot and kill the fuzzy, cuddly, lovable bears before they hug you to death. If you’re a fan of the Happy Tree Friends, you’ll likely dig this game.
The graphics and motion are very good. However, the game itself is a little lacking. You are given an optional backstory about trying to escape with gold and mystical treasures. But, in the end, it’s just a first person shooter, albeit a cute one. When you shoot the attacking teddy bears and their heads come off, they bleed in rainbow colors.
Via the option menu, you can control the sound and music and even whether or not you want to use the two-fingered control or just one-fingered. I stayed with the two-fingered control. I’ll say this about this game: it’s easy to figure out and use.
Presumably, more happens as one progresses along the levels. There are different characters and weapons. Sadly, I got bored by the game pretty easily and didn’t progress that far. It’s not a bad game, it’s simply not one that I find interesting. There is a free version of the game that comes with limited game play and levels. I’d recommend trying that one first before deciding to splurge the buck.
Pros: Easy to use. Good graphics.
Cons: Somewhat redundant and boring.
