That is a whopping total of 5 applications!

11 Pages of Goodness!

11 pages of goodness, where do I come up with these titles! Anyway, if the title doesn’t state it all, from my understanding, the new 3.0 firmware will have, yes, you guessed it, 11 pages of goodness. In other words, from the current 9 pages we have on the iPhone, we can now have 11 pages.
For those who just got an iPhone, that is from 148 applications to 180 applications that you can have on your phone. (which reminds me, my 31 months old son’s birthday is coming up). I know that some of you are thinking, who needs that many applications…let’s just say some people *ahem*. I’m not alone...
Sneaky Slingy!
Ok, the title isn’t the best title I can come up with but that’s the first thing that came into mind when I heard about this. After searching SlingMedia for evidence of this fact, here it is. Get mad now!
Essentially, for those who has been anticipating the SlingPlayer mobile for the iPhone. Guess what! You better have the latest and greatest Sling box, specifically, the Slingbox Solo, Slingbox Pro and Slingbox Pro-HD. Apparently, the “new technology” within the iPhone SlingPlayer will only support those Slingboxes. There’s a classic case of marketing for you!
Ten One Pogo Stylus - Review

Our Take:
First off, this is one of the three accessories that you can get from Ten One Designs. There is a “better” stylus called the “Pogo Sketch” which supposedly allows you more precise or accurate sketching capabilities. Read more
What’s so Special?
What do you think? It’s one of the few styluses’ out there that has capacitive touch technology. Doesn’t that make you want one? Capacitive Touch Technology…Wow! Ok, I sort of made up the Technology part but yes, there is some worth to this stylus because the iPhone is considered to have a capacitive screen which means…
A capacitive touchscreen panel is coated with a material, typically indium tin oxide, that conducts a continuous electrical current across the sensor. The sensor therefore exhibits a precisely controlled field of stored electrons in both the horizontal and vertical axes - it achieves capacitance. The human body is also an electrical device which has stored electrons and therefore also exhibits capacitance. Capacitive sensors work based on proximity, and do not have to be directly touched to be triggered. It is a durable technology that is used in a wide range of applications including point-of-sale systems, industrial controls, and public information kiosks. It has a higher clarity than Resistive technology, but it only responds to finger contact and will not work with a gloved hand or pen stylus. Capacitive touch screens can also support Multitouch.

In a nutshell, you can’t use any ordinary stylus like your pen cap, palm stylus, or any similar type of writing utensil. Now you understand why this Pogo Stylus is very special. It WORKS!
iBluetooth - Packed Features but Jailbreak only!
Bluetooth? Yes, you heard it right, Bluetooth done right on the iPhone. Unfortunately, it's only available for Jailbroken iPhones. Does this entice you none jailbroken iPhone users to finally take the plunge? Although I personally have not fully gone through this application, I can say one thing, it is packed with features and possibilities that are still yet to come.
Here are a few things that it can allow you to do:
- Image support is built in, and the file viewer allow you to send ANY file on the device. Key word folks is ANY files. Freeing yourself from the cords is a cool thing!
- Capability to send Music from the file system. In the near feature, the developer is expecting to give the capability to send Music that is within the music library.
- A2DP (audio stereo), serial port (bluetooth gps), and DUN & LAP (internet navigation) and more...
Overall, this is wonderful news and we hope to see this go to the next level and adopt things that Apple have restricted for some reason or another. We will have an in-depth review of this soon. For the mean time, feel free to visit http://www.medevil.net for more information.
Now Playing, Netflix - Simply Amazing!
Oh, I remember the days of watching movies in the theatres! Having to drive by the movie theatre to see what was playing, either posted outside of the building or having to run inside to see the times and schedules. Wow, so many things have changed, hasn’t it? Read more
If you are reading this, I will assume that you have an iPhone and you are yearning for what application you want to install next. Well, I can’t say that this will be the next application but I can tell you one thing, “Now Playing” has definitely stepped it up a notch to rival the rest of the current movie applications out there (Flixter, Showtimes, etc.)
Can you Sling it!

Here is something you can further sink your teeth into and make you salivate like a rabid monkey! Sling Media created a SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone portal on their website. Yes, such a tease. You teaser. Stop please stop, you're such a tease!
Just so you all know, first quarter means near end of March, which is when they are expecting to release the application to the App store. Seems like a while a way and I do hope I am so wrong and have them give us a late Christmas present! Ok, time to change my underwear.
SlingPlayer Mobile is Coming! Q1 of 2009

Well, well, look what the cat dragged in! From our last post regarding this in the past, as fast as it went up, it was quickly debunked but this time, try telling that to Sling Media when they have officially stated that they will be releasing this sometime in Q1 in 2009.
Are you excited! I know I am, it has been a long ardous road and believe me, I have had about an inch of dust covering my sling device since the days of my Windows Mobile device. So for all you iPhone users out there, of course with a sling device, blow the dust off because here it comes. You can now hold your breath!
Golf Match up!
I will begin by saying, Congratulations to all the golf application developers out there. You have over exceeded the expectations of what a golf application can do and with all respect, took advantage of every nook and cranny that the iPhone has to offer to bring us the best experience on a golf outing. Read more
As I contemplate and write this article, I think it’s suffice to say that this article warrants a blog for all the golf applications that will be released in the next few days. We have amazing golf applications that are constantly evolving right before our eyes and believe me, reviewing every one of them and deciding the method to the madness is one heck of a task.
In the next coming days, perhaps weeks, we will bring to you our deep analysis and review of each application and hopefully, by the time you read through each application, you can decide what suits best for your outing. We do plan to have a showdown between these applications but that is slated for a later time.
If your golf application has been left out, please feel free to contact me and we can try to include them here. Please do note that most of the golf application developers were contacted several weeks ago prior to this posting and if you were one of the developers to have opted out, well, more money to another developer.
In addition, we also did handpick top golf applications that we considered top of their game (no pun intended). Perhaps, we may have been biased but we wanted to give you our full head-on, no BS review that will give you the feeling to have purchased the best bang for your buck.
Lastly, every application was field tested during an outing to see whether functionality and workflow wise, it works. Sometimes simple is better, but we’ll see as you read on.
So let’s begin.
