The Great WOiP Giveaway: Organization Day - Notebook

By danc - Posted on 29 December 2008

If you use an iPhone and Toodledo you are likely familiar with Appigo's ToDo and Notebook.

ToDo syncs with Toodledo's task management.

Notebook syncs with the notebook feature Toodledo added some time back.

Notebook can be used as a standalone app but when used in conjunction with ToDo and both are synched with Toodledo they become a remarkably powerful organizational system.

Like all of Appigo's software, Notebook is updated at an amazingly fast pace. A recent update to Notebook added

-Full Landscape support
-The ability to password protect private notes
-URL and phone number link support (Linkability!!!!!!!!!!)
-Bullet Support
-Support for multiple fonts and sizes
-Improved load time
-Improved searching
And more...

Notebook can be found HERE in the App Store for $4.99.

We have 3 copies to give away tonight.  For your chance to win one just tell us one of the more "unusual" ways you would put Notebook to use.

One of the least mentioned uses of the iPhone is as a toilet device.  I'd use Notebook to note down my deep thoughts and inspiration while on the can, sync it with Toodledo so I could read over and admire it on my desktop.

Seriously though, I already use Toodledo and Appigo's Todo (which I highly recommend) so I'm sure Notebook would be a great complement to those apps.  I'd store my "someday" tasks in Notebook instead of Todo so they don't clutter up what I need to focus on right now and when I'm ready to take action on them, I can easily transform that note from Notebook into a task in Todo.

It's also better than Apple's Notes app because of the Toodledo sync.  I can copy/paste a chunk of text into Toodledo's notebook, sync it and be able to view and edit it on Appigo's Notebook.  Being able to sort notes by folder and also type in landscape mode is a huge plus.

Thanks!

Less than a month ago I began a new job as a freelance tachnical manager for a NYC-based cable network.  There is so much to learn about this facility, the people, procedures, etc.  I take notes on paper, then transcribe them to Excel and Word (for legibility), printthem, and carry them around in a 3-ring binder.

I don't have to mention that 3-ring binders are larger than iPhones, do I?  Or that they are inconvenient to carry, and at times are left on a desk, or a control room counter -- making them unavailable when something comes up that would be quickly dealt with if the notes were available, do I?

Well, that's my situation.  Sure, I could copy the Excel and Word files to my iPhone, and actually have done so, but I haven't found a really easy way to quickly find what I need in those files.  Perhaps Notebook...

Did I mention that, in addition to the 3-ring binder, I have a small, paper notebook (there's that word again!) in my pocket?  That's where I jot down my various ToDos.  But, again, my handwriting can be difficult to decypher.  Wouldn't it be great to have a ToDo application on my iPhone that syncs with my desktop (Linux would be best, but we can't have everything, now, can we, or we'd be running Ubuntu *on* the iPhone, with built-in projector, uncrippled Bluetooth, cut/copy-and-paste, etc.), so I could write some notes on a full keyboard, or cut/copy-and-paste on the desktop from ToDos written on the iPhone?

Well, that's how I'd start using Notebook  if it were to find its way onto my iPhone.

I'm a Network admin and I currently use the iPhone Notes app to keep special notes on some of the "Users" that I support - This is cumbersome at best.  I'm sure I could find lots of other uses if the program is as easy-to-use as your review claims - I'd love to find a great notes app to replace the myriad others that I keep trying and not liking.

It would be great to have some cool jokes for New Year`s Celebration!

I know blogs are designed to be kept online but I often want to reference or search something I posted about and don't always want to go online to do it.  This would be ideal for keeping all those postings with me and have perfect support to then hyperlink to elsewhere if I needed.

I think Toodledo, ToDo and Notebook go hand in hand (I use the former 2, and would love to have all 3)... Yay WoIP...

I need someway to keep my special notes for my large flock of wild billy goats, baa baa black sheep, and roosters who crow at 3am.
