For better or for worse, the world is filled with more different currencies than we can name. This isn’t a fact that’ll affect most people, but those of a more jet-setting disposition – Businessmen, politicians, stock market traders, and other uncommon types – need to have their finger on the pulse of global currencies at all times.
Currency Banknotes does exactly that, with a few frills attached. From the main screen, you can instantly tap in two of your preferred currencies for immediate conversion. Of course, you need an internet connection to do this.
The tab at the bottom of the screen gives you a couple of handy options. Going onto the Major Currencies tab gives you a list of the world’s most common currencies, where you can immediately get an idea of how they stand in relation to each other.
A neat addition is the option to look at images of all the world’s paper currencies. While this doesn’t have a discernible ‘use’ unless for some reason you find some unidentifiable foreign money on your person, the curious kid in me takes genuine pleasure in gawping at money from all corners of the world.

This app contains a banknote gallery from over 150 countries all over the world, including rare and very hard to find paper bills. It lets you zoom in and out of images, to let you see what the banknotes look like in full detail. With Currency Banknotes, you can access the banknote viewer through the exchange rate calculator so that you can quickly see what the paper bills look like for the currencies that you’re converting. If you only want to view the banknote images alone, you can easily access the gallery through the app’s Images tab.
