Notes: To open the Quick Actions double tap on the group or contact. No sms to group sorry, it can't be done with the current software development kit; No VCARD (just simple text email) since we can't send attachment yet with the built-in Mail app. When emailing to groups, BCC requires firmware 2.2 See the website for the user's guide with many screenshots. IMPORTANT: If something is not working for you PLEASE contact the support email. If you just write in reviews we can't understand what the problem is and fix it. We have carefully tested the app but there may exist unexpected conditions and we can't find them if you don't contact us. WARNING: Group management is not supported if you are synching with Exchange or MobileMe over the air. Synching using iTunes is supported. All other features are supported with any synching method. This is the only one contact manager I trust with my contacts. with such a interface, you couldn't go wrong with ABContacts.
Only thing is the vcard feature is missing or else everything will be great!

I have been using the app for about 4 months, It's just great, the developer keeps making it better and better. You can't go wrong with this!
ABContacts...how appropriately named.
with this app, managing my contacts can be as easy as 'A', 'B', 'C'.
This appears to finally fill the last hole I have left on my iPhone - managing contacts. So far I've found some reasonable apps for managing tasks, todo's, notes, schedules etc, but so far I've been left wanting with the contacts apps I've tried.
Over the years I've been spoiled with lots of great productivity apps on my Palms, WM's etc but the iPhone has, to date, been wanting. This app however seems to exactly fit the bill for what I need in managing my contacts. I've got lots of groups, for work, family, specialty, interests etc and many hundreds and hundreds of contacts. I've been using Contactizer on my Mac, which has made life much easier. The iPhone apps I've tried so far have been S-L-O-W, clunky, ugly etc. This looks to answer most of my issues and seems most promising.
Andrea seems to have come up with a great little app here which I would love to try out, and best of all, until I saw it here, I'd never seen it or heard of it before. Awesome!
In our recent first podcast where we went over the apps on our Homescreen, ABContacts was one that my co-host had a lot good to say about, so I've love the chance to try it out as well! The simple fact of it being able to add contacts much faster than dealing with the usual Contacts delay (and the even worse delay in MobileMe's web interface, at least from my experience) makes it sound like it could be an extremely useful app.

I already use ABContacts (thanks WOiP and the developer for the code recently) and can say that it is a really cool replacement for the built in contacts app. I have now hidden that and only use ABContacts. I contacted the developer, Andrea Vetorri with an idea but still need to get back to him on tha (just haven't had more time yet). I also came up with another idea today which I will also be emailing about which I know I would like to see in future versions. I am encouraging friends to check out the app as it is well worth getting !! If you end up having spare codes, I'm sure one of my friends would love to try it out. Looking forward to v1.4
Hi,
I'm the developer.
The app description above is not updated, there are other features in the current version and more coming in version 1.4 !!
The description has now been updated o reflect the current version
I use this all the time and highly recommend it.
Sounds like an app that would be super useful and could replace the Contacts app for me.
I'd love a copy. I like to think I give good feedback. By which I don't mean just positive feedback, but constructive feedback towards possible improvement.
(Such as: This rich text editor for entering the comments loads WAY too slow. It should default to just a plain text field. And at the very least there needs to be an indication that the text entry field is loading (for something like 10 seconds) so that users know that the page is not just broken.)
I will certainly love to test this. It certainly allows me to organise my contacts more neatly so i can search who to call in a flash.
This is one useful app!
