Natural Motion entered the iPhone scene with a blockbuster: Backbreaker Football. Playing the offense, you had to run down the pitch while evading vicious tacklers until the touchdown area. A great deal of the fun was watching the tacklers smack you down with NaturalMotion’s incredible animations (via their patented physical simulation algorithms).
Icebreaker offers the same fun, but in a hockey rink. You have to fight against increasingly harder threats to your scoring abilities, while racking extra points for doing backflips or timing slides. Graphically this is as good as the original Backbreaker, but controls are harder. Of course this is for a reason: ice is ice, grass is grass. So when you slide, you do it faster and it makes the game harder to control. Being so used to Backbreaker I found Icebreaker very hard but amusing.
Don’t get me wrong, this is an awesome game. It is just that compared to the original, does not offer that many new things. Slide and score, fun for a while.
If you are a hockey lover, for this price you should not doubt and just buy it: it is very fun, and if you are a challenge lover, there are plenty of challenges you can fight in this game.

Developed by Digital Legends, Icebreaker Hockey pulls out all the stops in high-end iOS gaming: smooth, life-like skating based on motion capture data from professional ice hockey players; crushing sidewall checks and takedowns powered by NaturalMotion's endorphin simulation technology; advanced OpenGL ES 2.0 techniques (such as mirror ice reflections) for stunning graphics.
SLICK MOVES
SKATE down the rink using the accelerometer. SPIN and DEKE past opposing players for extra points. SPRINT to storm forwards, or perform a HARD STOP to send your enemies into the wall. Press the SHOWBOAT button to really rack up the points, and finish it all off nicely with a charged-up SUPER SHOT. The goaltender won't know what hit him.
