You can always trust EA Sports to come up with the best titles for sport franchises. With Madden NFL 25 it’s no surprise.

As per all EA titles, expect only the most realistic of gameplay available on the market. Madden NFL 25 provides a comprehensive gameplay experience ranging from team management to actually slogging it out on the field itself. Controls are also rather easy to use, with joysticks and sliders thrown around for running and kicking balls.

Beyond that, EA offers a slew of customization options pertaining to upgrading players. These take the form of booster packs, much like in trading card games where players collect and single out the most useful cards.

However, in true EA fashion, Madden NFL 25 is treated like a cash cow. Gameplay is largely limited to energy and currency reserves. These, unfortunately, are hard to come by through free gameplay and must be obtained via in-app purchases which can snowball into a hefty sum. Moreover, while the core of the game is free to download, much content remains locked and can only be obtained again with expensive in-app purchases.

So while Madden NFL 25 does possess great gameplay and potential, the in-app purchases totally ruin the entire gaming experience. I would rather EA have marketed the game as a paid app with all content available upon a single purchase, rather than trying to milk out dollars through exorbitant side purchases.

Quick Take

Value:Med

Would I Buy Again:No

Learning Curve:Moderate. Gameplay is quite challenging but the tutorials are friendly enough to make sure a non football player can understand the rules.

Who Is It For:Sports fans

What I Like:Madden NFL 25 is probably the most realistic football game out on the mobile device market

What I Don't Like:The game focuses too much on milking out side purchases rather than giving an enhanced gaming experience

Final Statement:Such a shame
