When you first open Bird Strike, it asks if you are or want to be an open feint user. This is great as that gives you an easy way of sharing and competing with your friends on the open feint gaming network. After you either put in your account, make one, or dismiss that message, you are presented with the welcome screen.

Bird Strike definitely has a cute look to it, and this design style is carried throughout the application. From the home screen you are presented with five options. They are Play!, Options, Leader Boards (Open Feint), How to play, & High Scores (Within the App).

Playing the game is really self explanatory, you figure out pretty quick what to do and what not to do. The game involves you pulling down Gerald to launch him into the air, and tilt your iPod/iPhone device side to side to have him hit items that will launch him higher (Rockets, fireworks), increase your score, or protect you from objects you don’t want to hit (Helmets). An object that you really don’t want to hit is the metal beams scattered around the course and even sometimes the balloons as well. If you are unable to keep moving up, run out of rockets, or hit too many metal beams you get the ‘Gerald Fell!’ and they give you your score. In the end, when you get to the top, your in for quite a surprise, the spaceship that zaps you back down and makes you fall through all is really fun.

Will I be playing this game again and again? Yes I believe I will, even though its very similar to the "original" creators of this genre, Doodle Jump.

Quick Take

Value:High

Would I Buy Again:Yes

Learning Curve:Little to none

Who Is It For:All Ages 4+ or If you liked Doodle Jump

What I Like:Rather addicting game. Especially if made into a contest of who can get a higher score. Through Open Feint or with you Friends and Family at home.

What I Don't Like:A little too cute

Final Statement:Heck this game is a lot of fun, a lot of people are really going to enjoy it. But this game might get old quick.

Read the Developer's Notes:
