User Rating:My review is based on the free "lite" version of this game.
I will start by saying that the graphics in this game are fantastic. There are beautiful landscapes with lively deer prancing through the foreground. If you love nature and attacking defenseless animals, this game is for you.
Mind you, I’m generally against the hunting of animals for sport (being the knee-jerk liberal sort). I think the game would be far more interesting if the animals shot back. When is Deer’s Revenge coming to the iPhone? I’d play that.
Perhaps it’s just the fact that I’m playing this on a first generation iPod Touch, but the reaction time of this game to screen taps is very slow. Needless to say, I couldn’t hit a single buck or doe.
The lite version comes with sound settings and a trophy wall to display the heads of the virtual animals the user "killed". The full version has more levels, more weapons, more animals, more locations and a GPS so you can find and kill them all.
The biggest hindrance with this game is that I couldn’t better relish blowing the gentle forest creatures’ brains out. The game should have more blood, darn it.
In short, the best part of this game is the graphics. If it was the same game and only offered bucolic naturescapes with animals, I’d be all over that.
Pros: Excellent graphics. Good motion.
Cons: Tough to play on early generations of the iPod Touch.
