Flick Golf! is probably the closest thing a user can get to a driving range on the iPhone. The app has stunning graphics and animation and a central concept that can be addictive for both the golf and non-golf enthusiast.
Playing the game is simple. You pick a direction in which to hit the golf ball and you flick your finger towards that direction. While the ball is in flight, you can change its direction with further flicks. The objective is to get the ball as close to the hole as possible (extra points for a hole-in-one). If you get sufficient points, you can move up a level and continue the game. If you don’t, you have to start over.
The app has a Quickshot (and a Quickshot Pro) section, which is simply for practicing your swing and gathering points as well as a World Tour section which allows you to compete on various courses around the world and the higher you score, the more courses you unlock.. The app has an excellent help section and you can post results on Facebook and Twitter (and Game Center as well, of course).
If I were a golf fan, this would probably be my favorite iOS game. It’s beautiful, simple and addictive. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that I’m not a golf fan. However, I found no flaws in the program itself. Flick Golf! is an iOS game done to perfection.
