Developer's Notes:

The iPhone app,“Found in Haiti”, is designed to help provide structured information by email to the “Haiti Earthquake People Locator” service (http://hepl.nlm.nih.gov) offered by the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) (http://www.nlm.nih.gov) The app is primarily intended for aid and relief workers inHaiti, but may also be used by the general public to report missing people to the site. NLM’s Web site service will also populate the Person Finder service (http://www.google.com/relief/haitiearthquake) offered by Google and also identified by the U.S. Department of State (http://www.state.gov).

Users can choose to take a new photo using their iPhone's camera or use an existing image from their camera roll/photo library. They are then able to tag certain information about the person in the photo. The following fields, all optional, are available for editing:

•Given Name
•Family Name
•Health Status: (Alive&Well / Injured / Deceased / Unknown)
•Gender: (Male / Female / Unknown)
•Age Group: (0-17 / 18+ / Unknown)
•Estimated Age, in years
•Location Status: (Missing / Known)
•Last Known Location (if missing) / Current Location (otherwise)
Street (typically)
Town (typically)
•ID TagAutomatically generated by default. Aid work can substitute organization’s triage number.
•Additional Notes/Comments

In addition, the following info is generated at the time the record is created:
•GPS Location
•Date and time
