Our Review:

As a male, I didn't think I had the correct biology to review an application called "iPeriod".  Fortunately, my better half was kind enough to step up to the plate and help out on this one.

iPeriod is a useful tool for tracking a woman's menstrual cycle.  By using it, you no longer need to make red circles on the kitten calender in the kitchen.

To track a cycle, iPeriod needs at least two entries. These dates must be relatively close to each other (within 200 days) in order to calculate.  Simply input the first day of your last period and how long the cycle lasted.  Then add your next one.  Rinse.  Repeat.

For instance add the first day of your last period (month, day, year) How long your cycle lasted (7 days). Then add your next period. Rinse. Repeat.  If you're late, you can also go back and edit your information.

After the application has successfully calculated your cycle, it can track your menstrual cycle up to a year in advance, including fertile days. The calender also possess an array of setting including a variety of emoticons (Smiley faces for good days.  Frowny faces for PMS). The program also allows you to track your flow and rate of cramps.

The graphics are adequate for their purpose.  Red dots symbolize period days, green boxes represent fertile days, a flower icon for ovulation, etc.

This application is very easy to use and has a wide range of features which include password protection (For that nosy person in your life), alerts (Whoops! You completely forgot that you're female and the period is coming tomorrow), summary statistics (Will I get my period on vacation next May?), and e-mail (Just in case you lose your statistics).  This application is simple and convenient and I would recommend it to any woman that ovulates.

Pros: Good design. Easy to use.

Cons: Emoticons do not represent the full range of female emotions. Notes for each day and not just each month would be nice.
