Sometimes there are hidden gems in the App Store, and sometimes there is a reason that apps remain obscure. Currently, Super Shock Football is being offered for free for a limited time in the App Store. After playing it for a few minutes, I can see why.
Super Shock Football is basically a cartoon football game where the characters are dressed like football players from 100 years ago. It’s almost like playing football with toy soldiers as the characters don’t really move except on top of what appears to be toy carts.
That being said, the motion animation is excellent. Its smooth and the graphics are colorful and easy to see against the background. I also like the animation and pop-ups for the instruction windows.
I did have some problems moving my characters around to tackle the receiver on the other team. Perhaps I needed to spend more time with the game (I played it for around 20 minutes), but the instructions should be more clear about how to move the characters around the field to tackle. This lack of detailed instructions is a recurring problem in the game and sometime I found the touchscreen to be unresponsive to some of my motions.
Half of playing a video game is properly being able to move the characters around. While some instructions are clear, others are not.
While the animation and graphics are good, this game has a ways to go before being a football fan favorite.

Would I Buy Again:Probably if it was free.

Who Is It For:Football enthusiasts.
What I Like:Excellent motion graphics. Free.
What I Don't Like:Difficult to play. Screen doesn't follow instructions.
Final Statement:Worth a look. Maybe you'll have an easier time playing than I did.
