If you like to play games, like me, and you are into the latest rage – farming –

then you’ll love the App –  Tap Farm – by Streetview Labs.  Tap Farm brings farming fun to your iPhone.

When you first get into Tap Farm, there is a tutorial to help you learn your way around.  But, if you’ve played the popular farming games on your PC, you’ll already have the basic idea.  You start out with a farm, you plow your land, you plant your seeds and you harvest your crop.  It’s as simple as that.  The more you harvest, the more coins you get and therefore, as with real life, the more things you can buy – such as buildings, animals, trees and decorations for your farm.  Everything is accessible from an icon (green circle with a white arrow) in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.   When you touch the icon you can choose from different items.

There are various tools available to do your farming such as a rake to create a patch, a hoe to plow your field and a scythe to harvest your crops.  There is also a shovel in case you want to remove one of your patches.   You can create as many patches as you want, but you have to be ware since everything costs money.

The store allows you to buy seeds to plant.  It also allows you to buy trees, animals, buildings and decorations for your farm.  If you don’t have enough coins, you can get more coins from the store by touching Get Coins and following the links and the directions provided.

When you start the game, you are provided with 6 patches – some of which are ready to harvest – 220 coins, and 3 experience points.  (Experience points are used to advance your level in the game.  As you achieve higher levels, you can purchase more items for your farm and new seeds to plan.)

To harvest the crops, just touch the patches.  To plow them, you can touch them again.  To plant crops, touch the arrow icon in the corner, touch Store, and then touch Seeds.  You can choose to plant various fruits and vegetables, depending on your level.  Each item shows the cost and the time it will take to grow.  When you touch the seeds, you will be directed back to your farm where you can touch each patch you want to plant.  Your coins will go down and your experience points will go up (both are listed in the top left corner of your screen).  When you achieve the next level, a screen will pop-up to let you know.

To add a new patch, touch the arrow icon, touch the Create Patch icon and then touch where you want the patch to go on the farm.  Double click, and you’re finished.  You repeat this process until you have enough patches, or you run out of money.

Tap Farm is a lot of fun and you can play it at your leisure.  You can even invite your friends to play and visit their farms.  I’ve been playing it for quite some time and have built up my farm.  Its currently Free in the App Store, so if your into this sort of gaming, I would recommend this game.
