NaVida is ideal for anyone wanting to display charts and maps from public sources available on the internet. The application supports the WMS standard published by by OpenGeoSpatial Consortium to connect and display the chart and map content. The initial geographic coverage is Norway, but work is in progress to expand the coverage.

NaVida has functionality to search for geonames. iPhone 3G and 3GS users can also use the GPS to continuously track your movement on the chart. You can also bookmark your favorite locations.

NaVida uses maps from The Norwegian Mapping Authority and OpenStreetMap.org. NaVida uses GeoNames.org for searching. NaVida is built on the route-me framework.

Navida can not be used for navigation in accordance with regulations published by the International Maritime Organization.

The Transit Map features:
