Developer's Notes: Know where you are even when your GPS signal has been lost!
Introducing Trekometer - the first iPhone app that continues to predict your position when GPS signals are weak or unavailable. Take Trekometer with you on your next walk, run, or hike today.
Trekometer IS DESIGNED EXCLUSIVELY FOR FOOT TRAVEL (walking, jogging, running, and hiking).
Trekometer Features and Innovations:
Inertial Aided Navigation - When GPS is available, Trekometer continuously calibrates itself. When GPS signal has been lost, Trekometer continues to predict your position. Note: When GPS is unavailable, the error of your predicted position increases over the distance traveled.
Store It - You can store iPhone in a shirt or coat pocket, backpack, or belt clip during your walk, hike, or run.
Map - See your current position and the path you have taken to get there. You can select what kind of map to use (Standard, Satellite, or Hybrid).
Share your Trek - Once you are done, you can email your Trek to your friends (or yourself, of course). You can use any computer with Google Earth to view your Trek.
Electronic Compass - Trekometer uses the iPhone 3GS electronic compass to calculate your current heading.
Pedometer - Detects your steps. Trekometer learns how long your step is for each activity (Walk, Jog, Run, Hike, and X Train). You can choose to customize the step detection sensitivity for each activity, or use the default settings.
Trip Computer - Calculates distance traveled, current speed, maximum speed, average speed, current pace, calories burned, current trek time, and total steps.
Automatic Screen Lock - Just tilt iPhone's screen upright to lock controls. (No need to worry about accidental settings changes!)
Last GPS Data Fix - Displays latitude, longitude, altitude, accuracy, and time since last GPS update.
User Selected Activities - You have the option to choose different settings for each activity (Walk, Jog, Run, Hike, and X Train).
