Unlike existing weather apps that locate you in a generalized area, like a city or zip code, and then provide forecasts for weather reporting stations that may be miles away, WeatherFix combines precise location finding with a geo-spatial" grid "forecast model derived from a variety of weather data sources. As a result, you get forecasts essentially for your exact location– even when you’re moving, and for the precise locations you want to monitor.

Note: Local Doppler radar is currently available in the US. Other radar feeds around the world are coming soon. Regional radar and country mosaics are also in development, available in Spring, 2010.

IWIS stands for Intuitive Weather Information System and is an iPhone application to display weather data of Singapore in an intuitive and comprehensible way. It is a localized software which accesses several local weather stations distributed in the state of Singapore.
The features are user-friendly for overseas travellers and those who would like to understand the weather easier. After choosing the station, there are condition tags and suggestions provided to explain how it will feel like under this weather condition, instead of only showing the numbers. The data is presented as visual metaphors to understand the information as quick as possible. For users who prefer the discrete values, the application can be switched to data mode, where the actual value can be seen.

This application is developed by Mobile Interactive Media&Entertainment Group of Keio-NUS Cute Center at National University of Singapore, and supported by National Research Foundation (Singapore).

Metar Map provides easy access for viewing the worlds weather in a concise, easy to use application. When flying or driving, I often find myself wanting to know what the weather looks like on my route or in my area so I can better plan my departures or stops along the way.

I personally find this application very useful in both driving and flying. I frequently have trips that take me from Fort Collins, CO (KFNL) to Omaha, NE, (KOMA). Metar Map gives me a quick snapshot of what to expect on my trip. As a VFR pilot, I know that green dots are great, purple might get bumpy, I may have to fly low around the blue dots, and reds and yellow are off limits. When I'm forced to drive, I'm able to see exactly what's being reported ahead and around me at any given time.
