Celebrity gossip has never really been my thing, but sometimes you can’t help but to wonder what the rich and famous are up to. It also doesn’t help that beautifully panelled windows showcasing what your favorite actors and actresses are up to induce so much curiosity in you that you cannot help but the release the innate stalker within.
Yapert seems to be the ultimate fanboy/fangirl gizmo.
Yapert works by streamlining and providing only relevant content to its users. Users navigate through the system, choosing a select amount of celebrities they wish to follow in order to stay updated with their day to day activities. What Yapert does is then filter out content pertaining to the chosen figures and icons, before proving a neatly arranged feed for users to scroll through. Think of it as the go to app for celebrity stalkers.
I must say I was very impressed by the way the app was laid out to be. Panels were neatly arranged and the overall design scheme of the app did remind me a little of Pinterest. Granted for test purposes I wasn’t following a huge amount of celebrities like fanatics nowadays would, but it was still substantial enough to notice that the sleek design of the app did not allow for clutter to build up. Navigation was smooth and I could easily find what I was looking for.
Yapert pulls out live feeds from social media accounts belonging to the celebrities featured. This is a nice little touch in addition to tabloid gossip, as it provides for a sometimes contrasting point of view by allowing users to compare with actual accounts that stem from the celebrity’s point of view itself.
And Yapert is not only limited to celebrities in the entertainment industry; I was able to pull out big names from my favorite sporting teams.
As mentioned earlier on, I’ve never been a fan of celebrity gossip. But the whole ease of use and striking panels really caught my eye, and I found myself spending more hours on the app in the office than on my work itself.
So if I were a celebrity stalker, this would be one of the tools in my arsenal.
Would I Buy Again:Yes.
Who Is It For:Fanboys and fangirls.
What I Like:The app has a great layout that is easy to navigate around.
What I Don't Like:NA
Final Statement:If I were a stalker, I'd choose this.
