Are you ready to hear “Whoa, where’d you get that cool ringtone?” This is exactly what you will hear after you pick out some cool ringtones and alerts for your Android phone with the Zedge app.
The Good
Zedge provides a huge database of sounds to choose from for a new alert tone and/or ringtone. You can also download high quality wallpapers for your phone, including live wallpapers. The app allows you to set automatically changing wallpapers, as well as add a widget to your homescreen to quickly switch the wallpaper with one click. There is also the ability to share cool sounds with your friends via email, Google+, Twitter, text message, or Facebook.
The Bad
The app requires a wifi or data connection in order to use it. Unfortunately, there are some sounds included in the app that contain offensive phrases without warning. There is a small ad included at the bottom of the screen, and it would have been nice if Zedge offered a 99 cent non-free version to use without the annoying ad.
The Ugly Truth
Zedge is the easiest way for you to find free new ringtones and alert sounds for your Android phone. The UI is easy to use, but unfortunately, you have to be connected to the internet to use the app at all. It is well worth the download, though, as the extensive library of sounds will surely allow you to find one that is perfect for you.
