If you carry around a lot of those store bar code discount codes, or have them on your keychain, and like myself you desperately want to get rid of them, then 1Card may be the app for you. At the very least, it’s free to try so you can decide for yourself whether the virtual substitute to the card is just as good.
Of course, to use the app you have to register with Tracknose, but the information requested is minimal and standard (inputting further information is optional). 1Card also takes the current area you’re in and lets you know about local discounts at certain stores. It also has a map section so you can see where in the area those particular stores are located. There is also a filter so you can remove certain categories of shops from your search.
The app allows you to manually input the ID numbers for your card and take a photo of the barcode for a store to use during the checkout process. You can arrange the virtual cards in your virtual wallet so the one you want would be at your disposal with the tap of a finger.
1Card does still need some work, particularly in terms of languages. Offering more of other languages would be a step in the right direction.
Overall, it’s a handy app that could become one of those that are mandatory for any iPhone owner.

1Card allows you to:
- transform the barcode cards you ALREADY have into virtual cards: Rewards, Loyalty, Gift, Saving, Club, Membership cards, or any other physical card showing either a barcode or a regular number. Simply scan the barcode number that is on each card;
- get NEW Loyalty / Rewards Cards directly from the retailers and chain stores joining the service.
When you select the Wallet item, all your cards will appear as if they were tucked in the pockets of your wallet. Simply click on the one you need to display the barcode and scan it under the reader at the checkout.

Get to one of the places marked on the map and collect mobile coupons to be used at the checkout with immediate benefits. Display the barcodes for the coupon on your smartphone and have them scanned to use at the checkout.
