User Rating:Sometimes with free games, you get what you pay for. I don’t mean to be unduly harsh to games like All-In-1, but sometimes free just isn’t worth it.
My biggest beef with this particular games (or rather, set of games within an app) is that the user is forced to play against other people online. It’s more of an attempt at a gaming social network than a presentation of classic games. What if you don’t want to play against other people? Then, you’re out of luck.
Of course, there are ads. It wouldn’t be a free game without ads. There are banner ads in every chat room as well as one on the start-up screen and even ads between the screens. And why would I want to enter a chat room if all I want to do is play chess? By the way, like AOL in the old days, the chat rooms can get pretty, uh, adult.
If you try and connect to a game, sometimes you get "invalid game" and get directed back to the lobby. You don’t even get a chance to play a game. Even the ubiquitous background music of the app is really annoying.
If you want a nice game of chess, tic-tac-toe, or any of the other six games offered by this app, I’d recommend spending a little money and getting most any other app in the App Store. If you want to annoy or even curse your friends, then recommend this app to them. Otherwise, steer clear.
Quick Take
Value:Low.
Would I Buy Again:Not even for free.
Learning Curve:Relatively high due to navigating around to find the freaking games.
Who Is It For:People who appear to want to play games, but just want to be social.
What I Like:It's free.
What I Don't Like:Everything else. Ubiquitous ads. Annoying chat rooms.
Final Statement:This is one game I'll pass on.
The best part: it's completely FREE and will always be free!
