You want to stay fit, be more flexible, cope better with ageing. Yoga is for you, but where can you find the time for it? All-in Yoga 300 Poses is your mobile yoga teacher. And a very good one.

I was pleasantly surprised with All-in Yoga. The App Store says this is version 4.8 of the program and this shows in the quality of the menus and content. I was greeted by a beautiful home screen, where I could head to the workout calendar (to keep track of past yoga workouts,) set the program options (plenty! more details below) and direct access to premium content. But these weren’t the main buttons, after all, the core of a yoga app should be yoga, and for All-in Yoga it is. The main buttons directed me toward “My programs” and the Pose Base.

My Programs, as you can expect by its name is where you can create your custom yoga programs, or get pre-made programs you can follow from beginner to master. If you purchase the premium version of the app you’ll also have access to a teacher-made program, specially tailored for you according to your parameters (age and weight, your yoga goal, your yoga level and a set duration.) A wonderful set up for a yoga training.

As advertised, the Pose Base contains 300 poses you can add to your programs. Each pose has a short text blurb with the moves you have to follow (as well as a spoken version to keep you from needlessly watching your iPhone!,) which muscle groups get worked and a video of the move. I’m not easily impressed by apps. I am with this one.

Among the program options you can set language, the pose name voicing (English or Sanskrit… or none,) timers, relaxing timers, relaxing poses. You can also download additional yoga content straight from the app (or via iTunes.) Finally, you can buy a subscription to the Al-In Yoga Magazine (for 1,3, 6 or 12 months) or buy the premium mode to get assistance from a teacher.

In short: an impressive app for yoga beginners and experts. I can only recommend it wholeheartedly.
