Angry Birds is undoubtedly the most rated game to hit the AppStore and that is why each of their new release fills the headlines. Imagine them fusing it with the popular movie Rio and that too for free; no one could have stopped me from getting Angry Birds Rio.

Even a two year old knows how to play this game. You have a set of birds whom you have to catapult to a castle of sticks, stones and metal. In the past versions we’ve seen them bringing down evil pigs but there is a change of story here, which brings in the Rio tinge. Instead of green pigs we have poor caged birds here! Crash them and set the exotic birds free from the smugglers.

As usual, we have the iconic red bird with just some smashing power, the blue tiny birds who can split into three and the yellow pyramid bird which can torpedo into the castle. The things which make this one unique is the special power-ups which by the way, need to be purchased. We have a strengthening potion, a sniper, TNT producer and finally, a shaking one. In addition, Rio includes a mystic Eagle-eye powerup which gives out a dark eagle and causes chaos around.

The familiar stars are awarded for your good work and new levels are unlocked when you earn more. We have six sets of thirty levels each and that is enough gameplay for a long time.
Though paid stuff are available, you would need them only once in a while and hence is not so unaffordable. The amazing animations and the Rio beats are a pleasure to deal with and besides, its free. Who could say no to that?

Quick Take

Value:High

Would I Buy Again:Of course

Learning Curve:Medium

Who Is It For:Angry Birds lovers

What I Like:The animations and the Rio theme works out great

What I Don't Like:None so far

Final Statement:It wouldn't be free for long. Get it now!

Read the Developer's Notes:
What happens when everyone's favorite fierce fowl get caged and shipped to Rio? They get very angry!

In Angry Birds Rio, the original Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to the magical city of Rio de Janeiro, where they eventually escape their captors and set out to save their friends, Blu and Jewel – two rare macaws and the stars of the hit motion picture, Rio. Angry Birds Rio pairs the physics-based gameplay of the original game with unique twists based on the film.

If you get stuck in the game, you can purchase the Mighty Eagle! The Mighty Eagle is a one-time in-app purchase in Angry Birds that gives unlimited use. This phenomenal creature will soar from the skies to wreak havoc and smash the pesky pigs into oblivion. There’s just one catch: you can only use the aid of Mighty Eagle to pass a level once per hour. Mighty Eagle also includes all new gameplay goals and achievements!

In addition to the Mighty Eagle, Angry Birds Rio now has power-ups! Boost your birds’ abilities and three-star levels to unlock secret content! Angry Birds now has the following amazing power-ups: Sling Scope for laser targeting, Super Seeds to supersize your birds, Samba Burst for dancing destruction, and TNT drop to send a special (explosive) delivery!

Angry Birds Rio features:
- Six fantastic episodes with 180 exciting levels, plus 24 new bonus levels!
- Completely new achievements!
- Special Hidden fruits - discover them all!
- Put your Angry Birds skills to the ultimate test in spectacular boss fights!
