User Rating:"Swim around. Eat stuff. Evolve." And with those instructions, I started playing the game….and guess what? That’s pretty much the the game…the WHOLE game.
That’s not to say it’s a bad game at all–it’s actually a very calming game. It is like playing inside a Miro painting–abstract shapes replace your typical high color/detailed graphics found in so many games.
The game play is OK–you pretty much move your "creature" around and eat. The more you eat the bigger you are–adding various "parts" to your body. When you ‘evolve’ you’ll also get fins, tails, etc. I’m horrible at using tilt controls, and opted just for using the touch controls. Rather than acting like a virtual joystick (like it does in Zombie atttack) the creature swims to where your finger is. This makes swiming "off screen" very difficult.
As you swim around the various levels eating "cells" and nibbling on larger "creatures" there’s very calming "zen" like music playing in the background. Things are always spinning and pulsating on monochromatic backgrounds.
If you can let yoruself just relax and get emmersed in the game, it’d be almost meditative.
But just as I’d start to relax and zone out in the game, I’d have to move offscreen and the spell would be broken.
After completing all the levels as one creature, you are then ‘reborn’ as another creature–destined to "eat stuff" all over again.
O U R T A K E . . .
