So, if you love to play Skee-Ball when you go to the arcades, theme parks and the boardwalk then you’ll love the iPhone App Arcade Bowling by Skyworks. This App takes all the fun of the carnival game and puts it on your iPhone so you can take it with you right in your pocket!
Just download Arcade Bowling and you’re ready to go. You can choose to play the Classic Game (which is just like the standard Skee-Ball game) or the Progressive game (which allows you to meet goals, get bonuses and keep going to reach the highest levels.)
Arcade Bowling works just like the arcade game. You get nine balls and you have to roll them down the lane, into the goals to score points. The objective is to get as many points as possible, which is accomplished by getting the ball in the smaller goals (which have higher point values). To do this, simply touch the bottom of the screen and a ball is released. Then, flick your finger down the lane towards the goals to make the ball roll down the lane. You can tilt your iPhone left or right to make the ball move while rolling, helping you to get the ball in the goal while it is in midair. You can also adjust the ball’s speed by moving your iPhone forward and back.
When your game is over, your score is posted at the top of the screen. You can also see a list of your best scores (with the date you received the score) and add your name to the list with your score if you have a new high game. In addition, you can chose to see the scores at any time by touching the High Scores button on the main menu.
The Progressive game adds some challenges and neat features to the Classic game. Firstly you receive a goal to reach in each round. The goal blinks at the top of the screen along with various messages throughout the game (including a message telling you when your goal is met). If you meet that goal, you can move to the next round. Secondly, the different valued-targets blink at various times throughout the game giving you the opportunity to increase your points by 5 times.
If you need a little help on how to play, you can touch the informational “i” button found in the top right-hand corner once you get into either of the games. Here you can also chose to lower or raise the sound on the Music and Sound effects, and you can choose from 2 different sound tracks.
Arcade Bowling is an entertaining game, one which you can play over and over. The graphics are amazing and the sound tracks are cool. I’ve been playing Arcade Bowling for quite some time and found that it is very addicting. There is a Lite version available, which is Free, that allows you to only play the classic game and does not offer nay “bells and whistles”. However, I recommend the full version – it’s only $.99 and well worth it! Get Arcade Bowling in the App Store today!
