Summer is almost over—and just in time for that last beach party I came across Beach Finder.
Beach Finder is a simple app—enter a zip code or use the built in GPS and Beach Finder will display all the beaches near by. Nice, simple and handy; What more could you ask for? It works great; but that’s assuming you are ‘close’ to a beach. I’m not sure what “close” means, but from my house in NJ the closest beach is probably 50 miles away. When I tested Beach Finder, I was told that ‘no beaches were found’. I would have preferred if I was told that that closest beach is 50 miles away and let me decide if I wanted to travel that far.
Assuming it finds a beach, Beach Finder is very nice, giving you buttons to see what people have said about the beach, photos of the beach, and it will even start up the ‘maps’ app so you can get directions to the beach.
All of these features are great assuming it can find a beach. If it can’t I guess you’ll just have to look at a map.

What I Don’t: It had trouble finding beaches near me. I would have preferred it if it showed me the closest beaches regardless of the distance. Also, it’d be nice if the distances were in miles instead of KM (at least for beaches in the US)
Final Statement: Beach Finder is an ok app that needs a little tweaking. If it was able to find beaches more often this app would receive more stars.
