While you might think bingo just a game that is played by senior citizens, Mecca Bingo would have you think otherwise. For those in the US that haven’t heard of Mecca, it is a casino style bingo hall with a zany “disco bowling” look. People come to eat, drink, and score cards in bingo. I tell you all this to say that Bin-glo has nothing really to do with bingo.

Bin-glo is a game developed by Mecca Bingo, but apart from its prominent ads for actual bingo apps, and the use of numbered balls, Bin-glo is in its own world. Bin-glo could be described as a casual physics puzzler that is light on the puzzle and heavy on the crazy. Gameplay consists of you aiming a spring to fire a small ball at slight less small balls that happen to be numbered.

The object is to hit the balls that have the same numbers as the randomly chosen numbers at the top of the screen (see there is a slight bingo theme here). You score multipliers by bouncing the ball off other things (walls, or other balls) before striking the target. Hitting things cause them to move around the playing field kind of like billiards but as if your billiards table was tops with shag carpet.

As you play the game it unlocks “crazy modes” there are variations such as balls that teleport, lasers to guide your shot, or making the balls more erratic. I the crazy mode makes the game harder then it will increase your multiplier. Otherwise is will decrease it. Every five levels there is a special bonus level where you much tap on the ball that matches the selected number within an allotted time. Luckily, the game does not punish you for missed taps so I found it easy to beat by simply tapping all over the screen until the level was over.

This review has only scratched the surface of what Bin-glo has to offer. With a combination of Puzzle Bobble and billiards, Bin-glo will definitely appeal to some people. My fear is that the simplistic gameplay will grow stale more quickly, and that the variations will not be able to hold the attention of your standard iOS gamer. Either way, Bin-glo is free to play so if you are looking for a new casual game, it couldn’t hurt to give it a try.
