Everyone you know has a birthday, and guess what? It is your responsibility to remember all of your family members’ and friends’ birthdays. Fortunately there are now things like smartphones and Facebook to help remind us, but these do not make everything perfect. The app Birth-D does birthdays the way birthdays should be done in 2011.

After downloading this $1 app, you can import birthdays from your iPhone’s address book and from your Facebook account. After importing, you can choose to view birthdays by first name, last name, or, my favorite, birth date. Here in the ‘List’ tab, you can see every single birthday.

There is also a nice ‘Birthdays’ tab, which, instead of showing a list of all birthdays like the ‘List’ tab, shows only recent and upcoming birthdays, along with today’s birthdays.

There are also little things which make the app special. If you are interested in Zodiac and Chinese signs, you can choose to have these displayed. You can also upgrade the app with an in-app purchase to have a quiz feature, with questions based on your friends’ birthdays.

This $1 in-app purchase will also provide you with a celebrities’ birthday feature so that you can see who has the same birthday as your friend, and also a milestone feature where you can see when it is the 10,000th or 20,000th day of your friend’s life.  

Lastly, on a friend’s birthday, you can write on their Facebook wall, text them, call them, or email them with a simple touch from within Birth-D. And with the push notifications (which are easily customizable) you really won’t even need to spend too much time in the app.

Birth-D  is a great app that should be very valuable to pretty much everyone. You’ll never forget a birthday again. Just hope that they have Birth-D so that they don’t forget your birthday.
