1.8 million iPhones sold by Sprint, 40% to new customers

The iPhone is a truly remarkable device and it has benefited a lot of parties, especially to telecommunication companies as well although not in the short run that is. The same case would also apply to Sprint as it managed to sell around 1.8 million iPhones to its wide range of customers. In addition to that, it should also be noted that roughly 40% of these iPhones were sold to new subscribers and this accounts to roughly 0.72 million iPhones as well.

However, as much as how this prospect looks profitable, it actually isn’t because the company is having an increased net loss from $1.3 billion to $1.7 billion due to the launch of the iPhone 4 and 4S. This is because the company still has to pay the subsidies to Apple although it is expected to be highly profitable in the few quarters to come when the users are finishing their contract.

The company’s future plan will involve expanding their Network Vision as well as upgrading their 4G LTE network to other places in the country as well. It should be noted that the number released by Sprint is still shadowed by 7.8 million iPhones activated by AT&T and 4.3 million iPhones by Verizon.
