A Giant List of iPhone Developer Related Links

links.pngAri Braginsky (a.k.a. lemonkey) has been busy putting together a frankly intimidating list of links to resources that iPhone developers will appreciate. Blogs, Twitter accounts, tutorials – you name it. There are perhaps 60-80 links on there so far, and he’s trying to grow it. (You can send him an e-mail to ask him to add yours, if you like – or how about posting it to iPhoneFlow?)

I’ve had a dig through Ari’s list, and here are a few of the top sites I found:

Gogogic blog – Blog belonging to an independent game company. Some stuff about the company but also some awesome posts like How We Created an iPhone Game that get into the nitty gritty of development.

Bang2D.com – A blog belonging to the developer of “Mouse House”, an iPhone (and Wii!) game. Sales figures and general insights into development are included.

iPhone Development Blog – A blog with frequent short tutorials on how to perform various development feats – including playing YouTube videos within your apps, downloading data from password protected sites, playing MP3 files, etc..

Inside iPhone – O’Reilly’s iPhone focused blog. Not focused on code, but plenty of higher level stuff still useful to developers. Think strategy rather than code.

Planet iPhone SDK – A “planet” site that aggregates a number of iPhone developer related blogs together.

iPhone Development Bits – Quick links to iPhone development related resources by Sourcebits, a software development company. It has a lower throughput than iPhoneFlow, but it was around before it and every link tends to be well considered.

It’s not all blogs though; there are Twitter users, articles, iPhone app review sites.. jump in and check it out.

Wow, either lemonkey hates my guts or he compiled his list without Googling! My review site, iPhone App Reviews.net, is top 5 (often #1) for most searches involving app + review. I’m also in the top 10 if you just search “iphone app”.

Since this is a developer blog, you should also know that I allow developers to write their own posts at iPhone App Index.com.

And my third site is in the works… AppSale.net will be a place where developers can submit their on-sale apps for posting (by me) along with more detailed into than you’ll find on any automated For Sale website.

Thanks for running such a great resource! I’m not a developer but as a groupie it’s even useful to me.

    Michael

p.s. If you’d like to get on my blogroll at iPhone App Index, please go to my Trade Links page.

  2. Michael,

    Check the list again 😀

Thanks Ari! Btw, AppSale.net is now live. I’m also working on adding an automated feed to complement my manual price-reduction postings.

  4. Michael,

    AppSale.net is looking good.

    Added it to the list.

  5. Hey guys – very pleased to see a link to the iPhone App Auction – that rocks!!! It is a brand new marketplace for companies/brands to find Apps and make a bid – they’re facing the economic decision of build vs. buy. So, if you have an App you’d part with for the right amount of cash – get it listed (free through April 30th).

I’ll add another resource that will help App Developers monetize their development. The App Developer List designed to help people find Developers (so if you Develop and you want someone to pay you – get on this list).
