App Update – Toodledo

If you use the powerful web-based task management system Toodledo you have two iPhone/iPod Touch app otions.

There is Appigo’s ToDo (it works with Remember The Milk also) and there is the Toodledo app directly from the good folks at Toodledo.com.

Toodledo is the newer (just released a few weeks ago) and the less expensive ($3.99 vs $9.99) of the two. It is also the less mature and (less) fully-featured of the two. Toodledo’s rapid update cycle thus-far suggests it will catch up pretty quickly, however.

I happen to like Toodledo a lot and think that, at $3.99 it is a pretty good deal. (Although Remember The Milk isn’t charging a thing for THEIR app.) This update makes it even better.

Included in this update…

-Support for subtasks (This is a Pro feature in Toodledo.com)

-Added an icon on the lists if a task has a note

-Application badge can now reflect the number of tasks due today

-Added pre-filled fields so that, for example, new tasks in a folder are pre-filled with that information.

-Ability to pick the start screen

-Added logo to the home screen (Personally, I could pass on this…)

-Ability to disable "purge tasks" button

-No "Note" field for a task unless there is one

-Ability to show either recently completed or all complete tasks

And more…

The update also includes many bug fixes as well.

It is great to see Toodledo maturing so quickly. In my opinion, however, it will not be a contender until it gets… "clickable" email addresses and phone numbers! Think about it… you go to a task, find that it reminds you to make a call and then have to either remember the number, look it up in the contact list or… write it down on a scrap of paper!?!?!?

Hopefully next update.

Toodledo is available HERE in the App Store for just $3.99.
