Even though it really didn’t come much as a surprise, Apple has just announced a brand new MacBook Pro at the WWDC Keynote in San Francisco, and can we just say what a beast!

The new notebook is 25% smaller than the current MacBook Pro, while not quite as tiny as a MacBook Air  it’s still pretty amazing, with the smaller size comes a weight loss bringing the device to a mere 4.46 pounds.

What really has us gasping for air however is the fact that it sports a Retina Display!

Yes, finally Apple’s big innovation on touch screens makes the jump to the Mac.  The screen runs at 2880×1800, which means there will be over 5 million pixels in the display.

Furthermore the MacBook Pro will include two USB 3.0 across, a Thunderbolt connection,  a new thinner MagSafe power plug, and for all the photographers out there a SD card slot that includes sticker printing.

Whats really cool is that Apple will start shipping all models today starting at $2199  the base version.

The next-generation 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro:

-Quad-core i5 or i7 up to 2.7GHz, or 3.7GHz with Turbo Boost
-Up to 16GB 1600MHz RAM
-GeForce GT 650M
-Up to 768GB flash storage
-Up to 7 hours battery life with 3o days standby time
-SD card slot, HDMI, USB 3 and 2 (x2), MagSafe 2, Thunderbolt (x2), headphone jack, FaceTime camera, dual mics
-”The best stereo speakers we’ve put into a notebook”
