Previously, we have covered on how Apple App Store is doing so well with the number of downloads and apps present inside. In fact, Apple has been reaching a lot of milestones and it is certainly the first to have reached a feat of having billions of downloads from an app store. Its competitors such as the Windows Marketplace or the Android Market are nowhere close to the Apple App Store and it is one of the reasons why the company is still considered to be the number one of the top smartphone companies in the world.

Apple has been quite generous when it comes to their App Store milestones. This is because it has held contests on its future milestones such as when it reached 1 billion and 10 billion downloads respectively. In its next feat of 25 billion downloads, the Cupertino based company decided to hold another contest and the best thing about it is that the 25 billionth downloader will get a gift card for the iTunes Store worth $10,000.

The contest has been going on for quite some time and only now did the company managed to reach its target of 25 billion app downloads. However, the winner has yet to be announced although they will update the page once the winner has been identified.
