Apple launches "Back to School" promotion

In the past few days it was speculated that Apple would once again launch their  annual Back to School promotion. Like in previous years Apple is giving away a $100 gift card with the purchase of a new Mac, and $50 with a new iPad, or iPhone. The program begins today and runs through September 6.

Buy a Mac for college, get a $100 App Store Gift Card – and also gave with education pricing. Or buy an iPad or iPhone and get a $50 card.

The offer isn’t exclusive to the Apple online store; you can also take advantage of it through Apple retail stores, and authorized campus stores. To qualify, you must be a college student, a student accepted to a college, a parent buying for a college student, or a faculty or staff member. Full requirements for eligibility are outlined in the terms and conditions (PDF).

The offer is available in the following countries, with gift card amounts varying based on local currency: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States.
