Apple Tablet Coming In September…

This time a pretty credible source, The Financial Times, is reporting on the rumored Apple tablet device.  The change being that the report is now closely rumoring the device to come out with new music and video content deals.

The cost for the 10 inch diagonal device is said to be between $600 and $1,000, and according to Oppenheimer & Co analyst Yair Reiner,

"I think it will have a lot of the functionality of the iPod touch, but will be quite a bit bigger".

It will connect to the Internet and Apple’s online stores for apps and entertainment like the iPod Touch, but will lack the phone capability.  The report also explains the importance of the movie and e-book industries as driving forces in Apple’s decision to move forward with the tablet device.

"It’s a portable entertainment device," said one entertainment executive. "It’s going to be fabulous for watching movies."  Record industry executives said that Apple could use the larger screen to display liner notes and interactivity that could be packaged with purchases of the entire CD’s.

Obviously with such a large screen, both game and movie producers could have a field day developing content for such a device.

I guess only time will tell at this point.  Again.
