iPhone Apps for Food Lovers

Every food lover that has an iPhone must have some applications dedicated into finding some of the best foods in the planet. However, if you just got yourself an iPhone, or just looking for some new applications that you can use to get some food for your daily craving, here are just some of the ones that you might want to consider.

Urbanspoon (Free)

Urbanspoon is already a famous website dedicated to restaurants in certain countries in the world. In fact, it was so famous that Apple had used them as an example for the demonstration of the Apple App Store in 2008. The iPhone application which is already available for free, can be used to find some great restaurants. There are three factors to choose from and these are the location, type of food as well as the price per person. Once the factors have been chosen, the app will then show you the restaurants available.

Pepperplate (Free)

If you want an application where you can save your own recipes as well as checking other people’s recipes, then Pepperplate might just be the app for you. Besides knowing the recipes and instructions, you can also export the ingredients list to a shopping cart. In fact, this feature is the one that makes it different as compared with other applications that are available in the App Store. You can also use the calendar feature to plan your meals as well.

Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner Pro ($2.99)

The Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner Pro is the one on top of our list especially if you enjoy cooking. In fact, it is a rather indispensable tool for cooks as well. It works rather easily. There are three sections that you need to choose from. The first is the type of disk (main dish, salad, beverage, etc.) while the other is the main ingredient. Last but not least, there is the ‘Ready In’ section. Combine the three according to your requirements and let the app choose the right recipe for you. Sounds fun? The Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner Pro is yours for just $2.99.

Epicurious (Free)

Another great application for cooks is Epicurious and one of the factors that makes it good is that it is available free of charge. The application is ASME Award winner for two years in a row as well. There are more than 30,000 recipes available in Epicurious and all of them are available at your disposal. Some other things that you can do with this app include saving your favorite choices, shop items from the recipe, browse some popular food selections and many more. As mentioned, Epicurious is available free of charge.

Cook’s Illustrated (Free)

The Cook’s Illustrated application is available both free of charged or with an optional one-year membership that would cost around $34.95. For those that are serious in cooking, the fairly limited free version might not be sufficient for you and thus you might want to enroll on the annual membership. Cook’s Illustrated is more than just a listing of recipes. Instead, it explains some of the common problems while preparing a dish and the methods on which the cook can take to make a great dish.
