Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts will join Apple as senior vice president of retail and online stores

Burberry Group Plc CEO Angela Ahrendts At The London Stock Exchange

Apple has finally found a new Head of Retail in Angela Ahrendts, CEO of Burberry, she will be joining Apple to take on the position of senior vice president of retail and online stores, according to sources within the company she will be reporting directly to CEO Tim Cook

Tim Cook on Ahrendts joining Apple:

“I am thrilled that Angela will be joining our team, she shares our values and our focus on innovation, and she places the same strong emphasis as we do on the customer experience. She has shown herself to be an extraordinary leader throughout her career and has a proven track record.”

Ahrendts statement ccording to the press release from Apple:

“I am profoundly honored to join Apple in this newly created position next year, and very much look forward to working with the global teams to further enrich the consumer experience on and offline, I have always admired the innovation and impact Apple products and services have on people’s lives and hope in some small way I can help contribute to the company’s continued success and leadership in changing the world.”

As mentioned earlier Angela joins Apple from Burberry where she has held the CEO post since 2006. In 2012 earned an estimated $26.3 million making her the highest paid CEO in the U.K. according to CNN Money.

Ahrendts will join Apple in spring 2014.
