Are you tired of your iPhone not being customizable? No themes or different colors. You can’t change the battery symbol when it charges, or add a background image to your SpringBoard. Apple didn’t give us a lot of leway when it came to making our iPhone truly our own. All of those problems go away with a few simple steps that lead to your phone being jailbroken. Customizable fonts, themes, lockscreens, wallpapers, and much much more become available once you take the steps required to rid yourself of the binds Apple put into place. If you are interested in jailbreaking, or if this is your first time even hearing about this process please read on to discover everything I have personally discovered over the past couple weeks having my phone jailbroke.

In a few simple words, jailbreaking is fantastic.

Rated 10/10, 5 stars, 2 thumbs way up by me personally. I’ve never been happier with the functionality of my iPhone. I have to admit I was a tad nervous about jailbreaking. Would it hurt my iPhone? Could I restore it back to factory if I didn’t like it? A lot of questions plagued me about it. Finally however, I threw away the worries and dove headfirst into jailbreaking my phone, and it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Simply download QuickPwn and run it, follow a few easy steps and -poof- jailbroke iPhone.

Once your phone is jailbroken you are open to a whole new world of possibilities when it comes to applications. Cydia (the jailbroke App store), will become your new best friend. Cydia offers keyboard replacements, lockscreen themes, springboard themes, a LOT of third-party applications that Apple has denied entry into the App Store, and a whole lot more. So if you are like I am, and love to customize things, or simply want to have the best of both worlds with applications, don’t hesitate. Swing over to www.iClarified.com right now and find your corresponding firmware and platform (PC or Mac) and follow the steps towards jailbreak freedom!

Jailbreaking does come with it’s downsides as well, don’t get me wrong. First thing is first, you have to actually take the time to download QuickPwn and then run the program to jailbreak your phone. This takes approximately 30 minutes or so. On top of that you have to keep up with jailbreaking it. If Apple releases a firmware update (the recent 2.2.1), you will have to either install the firmware and find a new version of QuickPwn to rebreak it, or simply not use the new firmware. For me, rebreaking my phone is simple so it isn’t a huge hassle for me. Also, Cydia uses it’s fair share of battery power, no you aren’t going to go from full battery to dead battery in a matter of minutes, but if you spend a lot of your day surfing Cydia (and you will the first few days) then you are going to notice your battery dropping quickly.
