Here's how to access iCloud without a developer account

By Costea Lestoc
On August 5, 2011

Monday Apple released iCloud.com, a beta version of the website through which we can manage the data of our iCloud accounts.

Unfortunately for many, Apple chose to limit access only to application developers for iOS.

For me iCloud.com is accessible from three different accounts and none is registered for Dev Center so this limitation applies only to specific Apple IDs. For those who cannot access iCloud.com there is a way to remove the limitation imposed by Apple and if you follow the steps below you can access your iCloud account. The problem is that you cannot use the web applications from it but at least you can see what it is.

  •      Access iCloud.com using Chrome or Safari.
  •      Right-click an the empty portion of the site, choose the Inspect Element option and then Console.
  •      In the console type the following line of code and then press Enter:

javascript:CloudOS.statechart.gotoState(“active.springboard”)

After performing these steps you will have access to the iCloud.com dashboard but you cannot use any applications. Since you run a Javascript code to access the interface, a simple reload of the page will re-open the login page where you must follow again the limitation process imposed by Apple. Of course, these steps should be followed only by those who have installed iOS 5 on their device and at least a backup made with iCloud.
