The iPhone 5 had a stunning result for the Geekbench benchmark score. It scored a whopping 1500 points which is much higher than most smartphones even though it doesn’t sport a quad-core processor. However, with the iPad 4 on the way to be released, people are anxious to know how well the device fares as compared with the iPhone 5. As to no surprise, the A6X processor is even better than the one present in the iPhone 5.

The Geekbench score for the fourth generation iPad is 1700 and this is 200 more as compared with iPhone 5. The difference is in the architecture as well as the speed (1.3 GHz on iPhone 5, 1.4 GHz on iPad 4). However, both make use of a dual-core system although it does have a SoC profile meaning it also has a separate GPU all in one processor. While the CPU is a dual-core, the GPU is expected to be a quad-core instead. This in return allows the system to conserve battery while not using the additional four cores.

The iPad 4 is already on pre-order although it will be on sales in a few selected countries by this Friday along with the new iPad Mini.
