4 million. That is the magic number on the amount of iPhone 4S devices sold during its first weekend since its debut on the 14th of October. This number is more than double than the amount of iPhone 4 sold during its debut last year. This number comes as to no surprise to many because that are simply a lot of reasons for the success of the iPhone 4S.

First of all, we can see that the device was made available in a wide number of carriers namely Verizon and Sprint in addition to AT&T. It was not the case last year as AT&T was the sole distributor for the iPhone 4 which manage to rake only 1.7 million units in sales. It has also been 2 years since the iPhone 3GS was released and the device came just in time for people that has their contract ended to get a new phone, specifically speaking the iPhone 4S

In addition to that, Apple also had reportedly said that more than 25 million of its iPhone/iPad devices has upgraded to the new iOS 5. With such rapid development, Apple will once again take the lead in the mobile devices market share
