Every year for a while now Apple offers a lucky bag sale in retail stores across Japan on January 2nd. They will also have special offers available through their online store.

This year they will once again be holding a  Fukubukuro sale, or a mystery bag sale where shoppers purchase the bag without having seen the contents.

The lucky bags retail for 36,000 yen, or $345, and normally contain items such as iPods, headphones as well as t-shirts, however a  few lucky shoppers have received items such as iPads or MacBooks making the lucky bag tradition extremely popular.

The only thing shoppers need to remember about the lucky bags is they can not be returned unless the item received is defective.
