Lee Kun-hee, Samsung Chairman, suffers heart attack

According to several sources, Mr. Lee Kun-hee, chairman of the Samsung Group, has suffered a major heart attack. However, according to the reports the the 72-year-old is in stable condition and in recovery.

According to the Samsung Medical Center where Mr. Lee Kun-hee is being treated he “showed symptoms of cardiac arrest and the hospital staff had to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation”. Furthermore he has undergone surgery but appears to be in recovery, the hospital has declined to comment on the exact state of Mr. Lee Kun-hee.

Mr. Lee Kun-hee has been suffering from health issues for the past few years, he was hospitalized in August with pneumonia, and underwent treatment for lung cancer in the late 1990s.

Mr. Lee Kun-hee took over Samsung in 1987, when his father the founder of Samsung Group passed away. Other than electronics the company is also involved in steel and financial services.
