One of the good features that Apple has included in the iOS 6 is the advertising identifier. It replaces the UDID which can be invasive to the user’s privacy. In addition to that, this feature also allows you to stop advertisers from tracking your engagement from your iOS devices. Some of them make use of ad tracking so that they can do some targeted advertising. Nevertheless, if you feel that you want to limit the ad tracking in your phone, you can easily do so.

By going to the Settings application, you can limit the ad tracking by tapping General ->About -> Advertising -> Limit Ad Tracking and then slide it to On. Once that is done, your phone will get limited ad tracking feature as compared with the one that you currently have before. If you want to take things further, you can go to this link and then you can opt out from interest based iAds.

While these two moves won’t remove fully remove the ads, it will limit the amount of tracking that the advertiser can do on your iPhone. Thus, this means that your privacy is a bit safer as compared with before and you will not be subjected to targeted ads.
