I’ve never been one to worry all that much about the wallpaper I use on my iPhone. Every now and then I change it but, overall, I tend to be inclined toward the simplist image possible, if not to an actual solid color.

Others, though, seem to put a great deal of emphasis on it. In fact, I now of at least two people who jailbroke their first generaiton iPhones last year primarily because they wanted to be able to customize not just the wallpaper but also the look of the springboard. For them there is a neat little $2 app called Endless Walls. It doesn’t do springboard customization but the wallpaper selection can’t be beat.

Endless Walls makes it easy to view the 7,000 (and growing) iPhone wallpapers that are floating around cyberspace. The wallpapers are presented as a slideshow and are viewable over any data connection, including Edge. With it you can…

– Save unlimited wallpapers for later access
– Email wallpapers to others
– Pause and resume the slideshow.
– Set the speed of the slideshow
– Review up to the last 10 wallpapers
– Toggle the toolbar and status bar on and off

Today’s update adds the ability to
– Swipe lto view the 10 most recently viewed wallpapers (Note- the cache is cleared upon exit)
– Autohide the toolbar and status bar

If you are into iPhone wallpapers it is worth a look!
