Everyone has been looking forward for the latest version of the Mac OS X which is version 10.8 aka Mountain Lion. This is because the new update opens up a lot of new possibilities and applications to make the best operating system even better. For developers, they have already received a copy of the Golden Master version but for the normal consumers, the day to get the Mountain Lion update is tomorrow.

This was confirmed through the Q3 2012 earnings report which stated that 25 July is the date where Mountain Lion will be released. The price for the update is set at $19.99 making it one of the cheapest Mac OS X update. Those that will be getting a new Mac will have Mountain Lion installed by default although those that did not do so will not.

As to recap, some applications that have been updated includes iCloud, Messages, Reminders, Notes, Notification Center amongst many others. Suffice to say that this is certainly one of the best updates that have come to the Macintosh scene in a while. Nevertheless, we have yet to see a really major update such as the jump to OS 11 for example but I guess Apple is still content with its current Mac OS X.
