Mobile Orchard Workshops: Beginning iPhone Programming Minneapolis Beta Class

Mobile Orchard Workshops, our series of iPhone programming classes, is entering beta.
On Thurdsay/May-14 and Friday/May-15 I’ll be teaching a steeply discounted public-beta of our Beginning iPhone Programming class in the Minneapolis area.
Here’s the pitch:
In only two days, I’ll teach you what you need to know to build polished, ready-to-ship non-game applications. What’s more, you’ll learn the patterns used throughout the SDK so you’ll be able to learn on your own after the class.
Beta price is $300: a $900/75% savings over the $1200 regular price.
Designed for Java, .NET, Ruby and Python programmers. No prior iPhone, Mac, Objective-C or Cocoa development experience required.
Get productive fast: before lunch on the first day, you’ll create apps that incorporate location, motion, and email. By the end of the day-1, you’ll build table and navigation style apps (e.g., Mail) with persistent data storage and more.
Other topics include: Interface Builder; Objective-C; transitions/animations; auto-sizing and portrait/landscape auto-rotation; multi-view/tab-bar applications, multi-touch and gestures; web services; WebKit/hybrid-web applications.
Being a beta class and all, some of this is still in flux, but I’m working on including one of more of: camera/photo-library, address book, and/or basic drawing.
Small class size, individual attention, experienced instructor.
With me, you know what you’re getting: see the quality of the materials and my ability to communicate technical content in the tutorials I’ve authored. The praise in the comments of these posts are a great endorsement.
Registration For 5/14-5/15 in Minneapolis
To register email me. Include your phone number, t-shirt size and a sentence or two about your programming experience. I’ll send you directions to the facility, instructions for setting up your Mac laptop (you’ve got to bring your own! you’ll also need to have enrolled-in/paid-for Apple’s iPhone developer program), and a payment request from PayPal.
Seating is limited. I expect the class to fill up quickly, so don’t dawdle! Update: less than half a day after announcing it, the class is half-full!
Have questions? Email or call (612) 423-3694.
Coming Soon To A City Near You
After the beta class, I’ll be taking this show on the road. Google Analytics shows the large cities that people visiting this site are coming from; I’ll plan accordingly. If you’re in a smaller city and are interested in having a local workshop: line up at least six people I’ll see you in your city.
