New In The App Store – Kindle

Now THIS is huge news.

I posted about the "app" for James Patterson’s Sail (a bargain if you love over-spending) and was going to sign off for the night.

A last quick check of the App Store revealed that the rumors were indeed true… Amazon has indeed been working on a Kindle iPhone app and they just launched it tonight. Yup, Kindle for iPhone is available now.

I downloaded the free Kindle app, put in my Amazon credentials and… there they were, all the books I’ve bought on my Kindle were waiting to be downloaded.

Oh, but it gets better.

I downloaded my Kindle books to my iPhone in a matter of seconds. No long log in issues as I have had with "other readers". The books were there and downloaded with ease.

I’ve been reading Dan Brown’s Angles and Demons on my Kindle so I checked it out on the iPhone and…  wouldn’t you know it… that "whispersync" thing Amazon has been pushing is actually REAL! The book started on my iPhone on the page I left off last night on my Kindle last night! NICE!!!

No, the personal documents I’ve sent to my Kindle weren’t available but my entire bookshelf of purchased books is. Now I don’t have to choose which medium to use- if it is on my Kindle it is on my iPhone and my Touch.

Amazon has done an AMAZING job here and has just leap-frogged past all other electronic readers!
