I don’t know about you guys but there is nothing I hate more than watching a video shot on the iPhone that was filmed in portrait mode. A friend of mine always says please people remember our TV isn’t placed vertically for a reason, therefore you should always be filming in landscape mode, it really can’t be that difficult to remember.

Well today there is hope for iPhone videographers, because the guys at Evil Window Dog have released Horizon a new iPhone and iPad app that shoots horizontal videos no matter what angle you hold your iPhone at. Thanks to the gyroscope and accelerometers inside the device it can calculate how you are holding the device, and then shoot the video in the proper landscape format.

I must admit I am liking this app a lot more than I expected, the fact that I have several family members to need to learn how to hold their phone when recording a video makes me want to install this app on all their devices.

You can get the app at an introductory price of just $0.99 right now with the price increasing to $1.99 after this period ends. The app is universal meaning you can use it on all your devices.
