Pro Football – Review

Zumobi, the maker of the Pro Football application series, has released an app for every NFL team.

For example, since my favorite team is the Jacksonville Jaguars, I was able to download Pro Football Jacksonville.

The application opens to four windows, three of which are the same for every version: News, Scores, and Stats. You can use these windows to find information from around the NFL, from viewing the upcoming week’s injury report to checking who has the most rushing yards in the NFC. These tabs work great at what they do, with a “e-mail to a friend” link in the upper right hand corner at all times.

The forth corner of the menu, however, is a window catered to the NFL you selected.

Here you can look up specific news and stats with a more focused selection of stories, a nice touch if you have to keep an eye on your team at all times. Also, the graphical interface overall is nice and the menus sharp.

My only question is why Zumobi didn’t just release one application and allow you to switch which team is in the fourth window, or better yet, let the user select two or three to watch.

The app is free due to some small advertisements at the bottom of the screen.

You can get the Jacksonville app HERE. (The other teams are there, as well.)

Quick Take

Value:  7/10
Would I Buy Again: Yes
Learning Curve: None
Who is it for: Football fanatics who need to stay current on their team.
What I like:  The presentation.
What I Don’t:   The advertisements.

Final Statement:  A great app for the hardcore NFL fans, but other sports fans will find broader minded sports information applications like Sportacular more useful.
